This flag represents many things in my life. I will never forget the day I first flew from London to Malta. It was on AirMalta and that that moment I didn’t know anything about them. To my surprise they were very good.
In this case the Maltese flag on board is the one accompanied me last spring from Comino back to Malta. Nice weekend in Comino, mainly because I was the only one on the island. Of course there’s an old couple and a the police. The police officer comes every morning from Gozo on his tiny boat with a Maltese flag.
Sounds like Comino was a huge island and I’m trying to describe a region, but that’s not even close. In fact, there’s nothing here in terms of buildings. However, nobody seems to be interested on the East side of Comino. Mainly because the Blue Lagoon (the most attractive place for toutists) is on the West side of the island.
But if you like peace and want to snorkel or dive or simply see a very nice landscape with a very high cliff like the one on the picture then you have to come to the East Side of Comino. Trust me – chances are you will come across wild rabbits – and I’m not joking.
On a random day, me and my friend decided to go for a walk to enjoy some of the good Toronto scenery. Even though she looks like she’s posing she didn’t noticed in the first place. She didn’t like it too much but afterwards she accepted that it was a good picture….. lucky me.
It wasn’t a cold day but the white snowy background did not leave the imagination for too much. It was just there staring at me. I had a long range lens luckily, something quite unusual but quite handy on that particular moment.
I remember now, it was a cold and very humid day of winter. The weather forecast said it was going to be foggy and rainy. Instead it was just cloudy and very windy. First time I was in that part of the island and surprised by this virgin who seems to be overlooking at every single boat that crosses her sight.
Stormy day it was, perfect of dramatic scenaries and there it was. A cross attached to a random stone in the shore. I just thought who and how did the person managed to put it there… and most importantly why?
This old bike inside the former Gdansk Shipyard represented all those past old memories from the workers who once used to work in that place. There’s nothing else to it……just past memories on a foggy day in Gdansk.
Some 30 years ago there used to be someone who used to see every single day and it might not have meant too much to him but for me catching that moment was priceless. The rust and abandonment of the whole place said it all.
I’ve only been once to Poland and it was Gdansk. People said that only Warsaw and Krakow have live and good entertainment. False, Gdansk hides some good gems that have to be explored and discover by yourself. The mix of beach, channels and old German influence gave this city a particular cosy feeling.
Stop now! what are you using to access this site? A screen, right? Have you realised all the consequences of facing or sitting in front of a screen for long periods? I bet you haven’t but it’s true. Think – now stop and go out to catch some fresh air! Enjoy life.
This beautiful Maltese island a real dream for anyone who can come and enjoy Comino in Malta. The colour of the water says it all. Just remember to bring sunblock, snorkel, and plenty of enjoyment will await for you.
There are certain things that make a nation proud of itself. The Japanese have sushi, samurais, shinkansen – French: wine, Eiffel Tower and the Italians have pizza, mafia, Vespa and the always cute and vintage Fiat 500.
Tivoli, where I took this picture, caught me as soon as I jumped off the bus. Wandering and trying to live the real Italian style I came across this great image of Fiat 500 alone in the entrance of a residence. Even despite the years the Fiat 500 seems to be in very good conditions and it’s a pity I didn’t see the owner cos I wanted to ask him/her who he/she has managed to keep it in such a good condition.
