Back to Lockdown

It has been a few months since I last wrote my blog, and the reason is that once they let us go out and start leaving the city I didn’t want to spend time within four walls. For me writing my blog is a way for me to relax whilst listening to lo-fi or jazz music. We are already in our second lockdown weekend and in the case of Barcelona our restrictions are compared to other European cities quite relaxed. So what are the restrictions in place?

  • From Friday 0600 until Monday 0600 citizens cannot leave Barcelona city.
  • Curfew from 2200 until 0600 every day, not just during the weekend.

For someone like me who spends weekends away from Barcelona, this is a bugger, but I understand that this is part of the government covid19 strategy to contain the infections. On other other hand, I am grateful and lucky for being healthy, having a job, an income and food everyday.

Instead the last two weekends I have been reviewing my summer pictures, all the places I visited, all the people I met, all the smells and dishes I tried, but especially all the beauty Spain and Portugal have to offer.

If there is one thing 2020 has taught me is that we must seize the opportunity whenever it comes to us and enjoy it as it was the last great experience of your life.

Long gone are the days when we used to say: “I will save now, to enjoy it later” , “I won’t get this expensive item now, because I cannot really afford it” . Life in 2020 has taught us, that whatever you like whether that is an item or experience it is better to enjoy it now and not waiting for later because later might not come.

With these last words I will leave you till next time and remember you only live once. It is time to live whilst enjoying the ride instead of waiting to get to the finish line.
